Safe Passage Engineering Specialists

Disasters do not just happen on sunny days, when conditions are at their worst is when Waysafe comes into its own.

LGI has been manufacturing and supplying illuminated safety guideline to Emergency Services  and security organisations worldwide for over 20 years.

Following the success of the battery Waysafe, we were asked if it was possible to produce a Waysafe product with directional indication. One of the first applications was to indicate a safe walking route on the Railways. The users had the ability to change the direction of travel for those arriving and departing from the work site. The directional Waysafe offers many advantages over the standard Waysafe.

.

The Directional Waysafe offers the user the ability to give a visual indication of the direction of travel. The various controls allow the user to change the direction, increase the speed of direction and increase or decrease the illumination levels.

Safe Passage Engineering

What is safe passage engineering? The emergency services organisations work in extreme risk-to-life conditions, the need to be able to direct their own or the rescued parties down a safe route or to stop them travelling into an area of danger is imperative. LGI’s Directional Waysafe product offers a simple solution to the problem.

LGI’s-Directional-Waysafe-Illuminated-linear-Guidance-System.

The Directional Waysafe indicates the direction of travel in low light and dark conditions. With applications for either internal or external conditions. The Directional Waysafe gives the user the additional ability to control the direction of travel by simply adjusting the control knob on the face plate.

Waysafe’s illuminated cable can be used quickly and efficiently to mark a safe route or area of danger above or below ground, or even in water. It is simple to deploy and operate, with a minimum of training required. Should the illumination cable be damaged it is easily repaired on site. All Waysafe models are available in 50 m, 100 m, 200 m, and 300 m lengths.

The Directional Waysafe illuminated cable is only 5 mm in diameter. The cable emits a brilliant Blue/Green light along its entire length. This colour is highly visible at night and provides the safety and comfort factors inherent in a clear constant reference point.

Repair the cable

In the event that the cable becomes cut, the undamaged section should remain illuminated. To repair, turn off the Waysafe and effect a field repair as shown in the repair kit to get the cable working again.

Directional Waysafe Illuminated linear-guide line is the most effective, cost-efficient, and visible way of marking safe walking routes and areas of danger.
This UK-designed and built product offers the flexibility you require to undertake your varying task.

There are four standard illumination colours available, these are: – Blue/Green, Red, Lime Green, and Orange.

UK users include:

Fire & Rescue Services
U.S.A.R (Urban Search and Rescue)
Police Forces
UK HART Teams
Construction
Rail

Applications include:

Smoke Filled Environments, (see our Directional B.A. line), Confined Space Search, Collapsed Structures, Water Rescue, Tunnel Operations, Cordoning, Hot Zone Marking

The new introduction to the range is the Directional Waysafe, this product offers the user the ability to determine the direction of travel required to undertake the job.

Directional Waysafe

Marking a safe passage or an area of danger has always been an issue at night. Using single-point illumination devices is easy to apply but can be disruptive to the eye. Visual-spatial processing is an individual’s ability to process visual stimuli to comprehend spatial relationships between objects and visualize different scenarios or images. When having to travel across a field or an unknown area at night you are looking for recognisable signs of a safe route to travel.

Waysafe gives you the ability to clearly mark the safe direction to travel. Under normal working conditions, the safe route or passage would be easy to determine, at night that becomes a more complex task. If you then develop further the situation as in a collapsed structure or a confined space search at night, without considering the prevailing weather conditions, it is going to be difficult. But as we all know when conditions are at their worst that is when you probably going to be working on a complex search or recovery event.

Waysafe illuminated guideline was specifically   for use in low light and dark applications whether internally or externally. This enables th to clearly mark a safe route to travel or to mark a hazard.

The portable Waysafe system’s cable is only 5 mm in diameter. The cable emits a brilliant Blue/Green light along its entire length This colour is highly visible at night and provides the safety and comfort factors inherent in a clear constant reference point The product range has been developed specifically to accommodate the requirements for both portable and plug in power There are Four standard
illumination colours available, these are Blue/Green, Red, Lime Green and Orange.

For those who require the ability to increase the illumination distance the 100 m Waysafe gives you that
flexibility, however the illumination time is reduced to 7 hours This still gives you a  nights work from a single charge of the batteries.

For those customers that require the ability to have both a mains supply and the additional capability of a battery backup the we can offer to 110/240v battery Backup Waysafe to overcome this problem.
